
On March 7, 2024, the Westmoreland County Sheriff's Office received information that provided the location of Mr. Shamar D. Thompson. Mr. Thompson was wanted on outstanding capiases and warrants from Stafford and Westmoreland County. Upon arriving on scene, deputies located Mr. Thompson in the 2300 block of Nomini Grove Road. After a brief foot pursuit, he was arrested without further incident. Also arrested without incident at the same location was Mr. Tyreek J. Jones and Ms. April L. Ellis. A search warrant was obtained and executed at a residence where Ms. Ellis was located.
Separate and with no relation to the above arrests, Mr. Otis H. Brown, Jr. was arrested without incident on March 7th in Northumberland County by members of the Tri-County Drug Task Force on a narcotics charge from Westmoreland County. The task force consists of personnel from Caroline, King George, Westmoreland County Sheriff's Offices, Virginia State Police and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
Those arrested to include charges are:
Shamar D. Thompson, 26, Hague, one count each of possession with intent to distribute a schedule I or II controlled substance, possession of a stolen firearm, possessing a firearm while in possession of a controlled substance, obstruction of justice, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Seized items subsequent to arrest were $4,770 U.S. currency, a 2008 Honda Accord, a Glock 9mm and narcotics (pressed pills and approximately 40 grams of cocaine). No bond
Tyreek J. Jones, 24, Kinsale, one count each of possession of a schedule I or II controlled substance, carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a firearm while in possession of a controlled substance. Seized items subsequent to arrest were $4,830 U.S. currency and a Glock 10mm. No bond
April L. Ellis,49, Montross, one count of possession of a schedule I or II controlled substance. Seized items subsequent to search warrant were narcotics and narcotic paraphernalia. $1,000 secured bond
Otis H. Brown, Jr., 35, Kinsale, one count of distribution of a schedule I or II controlled substance. Seized items subsequent to arrest were $1,118 U.S. currency and a 2011 Infiniti. No bond.
Court appearances have been scheduled. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be pending.
