The Westmoreland County Sheriff's Office is proud to present the 2024 Annual Report, highlighting a year of dedication, service, and community engagement. Under the leadership of Sheriff C.O. Balderson, our deputies and staff have worked tirelessly to ensure public safety and uphold our mission of integrity, respect, service, and fairness.

Key Highlights from the Report:

  • Crime & Enforcement: The report details crime statistics, arrests, and enforcement efforts, including drug seizures, DUI enforcement, and traffic stops.
  • Community Programs: Initiatives such as Project Lifesaver, TRIAD, Shop with the Sheriff, and National Night Out continued to foster strong community relationships.
  • Court & Civil Services: Deputies provided security for 254 court days and completed thousands of civil process services throughout the year.
  • Accreditation & Training: The office remains accredited by the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission (VLEPSC) and continues to emphasize professional development for deputies.
  • Community Outreach: Deputies conducted 66 community presentations on crime prevention, traffic safety, and more, reaching over 2,100 residents.
