Qualifications:
To be considered for the position of Deputy Sheriff, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework preferred)
- Valid Virginia driver’s license
- Ability to pass a background investigation, including criminal history and driving record checks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Previous law enforcement experience or military service is preferred but not required
