The Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of a Green Dot Pak Card Scam, where victims are being contacted by a caller who states that they work for publisher’s clearinghouse and they have won a 50 thousand dollar Mercedes’s Benz. The caller informs the victim that they need to purchase a Green Dot Money Pak card that can be purchased at any local store. The caller then instructs the victim to purchase a Green Dot Money Pak card for a specified amount and is instructed to scratch off and read the Money Pak card serial number to the perpetrator.
