Shop With the Sheriffâ A Reality With Adapt & Overcome Mentality
Â
The Westmoreland County Sheriffâs Office presented 12 county children with a wide variety of toys and clothing items as part of the fourth annual âShop With the Sheriffâ. Â
Due to the current pandemic, plans for the event had to be altered.  Sheriffâs office personnel conducted the shopping spree on Tuesday, December 7th at the Walmart Supercenter, Central Park.  On Friday, December 11th, each child and a family member arrived separately at the sheriffâs office to pick up the gifts which included a special visit from Santa himself.  Smiles flowed abundantly as well as a few tears of joy.
I want to thank our citizens and the Walmart Foundation for the monetary donations to make the purchases.  Additionally, I also want to thank Subway for providing a âmealâ certificate to each child and Manager Anucha Taylor for arranging the logistics at his store.  Words alone canât adequately express my deepest appreciation for their generosity and support in making this special occasion possible.
If anyone is interested in making a donation to the âShop With the Sheriffâ program, please contact Master Deputy Amy Molinares at amolinares@westcoso.us or at (804) 493 â 8066.
