Westmoreland County Sheriff's Office
Project LifeSaver

The Westmoreland County Sheriffs office is a participating member of the Project Lifesaver program. The service is designed to assist families with loved ones suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia disorders, as well as families with children afflicted with Down's syndrome, autism, traumatic brain injuries or cognitive impairments. These persons might be prone to wander away from home and become lost or confused.

Persons enrolled in the program wear a personalized bracelet that emits a tracking signal. When caregivers notify the Sheriff’s Office that a loved one is missing, specifically trained sheriff’s deputies respond to the area with the mobile locator tracking system to locate the individual.

To sign up or get more information on the local program, contact Major John L Hoover III or 1 st Sgt. Vanessa Schoch at 804-493-8066
