Deputy Receives Public Service Award

At a ceremony held on May 20, 2009 by the U.S. Department of Justice in Richmond, Investigator William R. Lewko of Westmoreland County Sheriff's Office received a Law Enforcement Public Service Award. Personnel from 27 different agencies throughout the United States were present to receive awards for tireless efforts in the joint local and federal investigations concerning illegal drugs, as well as other criminal activity. Sheriff C. O. Balderson said " I am extremely proud of Investigator Lewko. His hard work, dedication and commitment make him more than worthy of this award. The residents of Westmoreland County are much safer and secure as a result of his thorough, efficient, and effective efforts." The picture above, Taken at the ceremony, feature Dana J.
